The Houston Astros made a major splash in free agency on Monday, as they signed first baseman and 2020 AL MVP José Abreu to a three-year contract. And according to team owner Jim Crane, the defending champions aren't done making additions just yet.
One potential target for Crane and company? Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras. Houston is reportedly "in discussions" with Contreras, per The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, although it appears as though Contreras would be deployed in a bit of an unconventional fashion.
